Yohko Asagiri is a young, ordinary school girl. She likes a particular boy, as young school girls are want to do and to give herself courage she composes a song.
Little does Yohko know, however, that the song she has written is really from a world that exists next to our world, across the dimensions. Yohko's song is power there and this power has attracted the attention of some nasties that exist in Ashanti, the alternate world.
Thus Yohko is brought to the world of Ashanti where she meets a talking, flying dog named Lingum and a mecha riding shrine maiden named Yoni. Yohko, herself, is transformed into a warrior of Leda and gains powerful fighting abilities that she uses to recover her lost song.
Leda - The Fantastic Adventures of Yohko is much like El-Hazard meets Alice in Wonderland. There is at least one potential reference to Lewis Carol's work in the anime. There is also a trailer with rather painful English in it, and the crisis of the L and R as Lingum is renamed Ringum.
In general, however, the anime held up. The animation is pretty good in most places and it has a reasonable story. Fans of El-Hazard will probably find it familiar territory.
