I love this movie.....

It is another world, but much like our own, and another time, but not very different from our time.

And countries, cultures, and people that are not unlike us.....

This world is also about to make the first manned space flight. To undertake this responsibility is cadet Shiro Lhadatt.

Shiro is ridiculed by his countryman, used to promote products and shot at. His space shot is also looked upon, by the military, as a way to intimidate an unfriendly neighboring country and is used as such.

Shiro also meets a lovely [religious] young women who is not cold, or apathetic and thinks what he is trying is wonderful and very important. Shiro changes from another member of a useless organization and a cold society to the first man in space.

The Wings of Honneamise is one of the best Anime I have ever seen. The story is great and the animation is wonderful.
