ABOUT TEKNOMAN

Teknoman!
Get ready to be transported to the year 2087, where the people of Earth are about to face the most relentless enemy humankind has ever seen. Their only hope for salvation is TEKNOMAN, a super-hero with super-human strength, impenetrable armor and quantum energy weapons. Teknoman has the ability to crush evil -- but he is also in constant danger of losing his humanity and succumbing to the dark side of his powers.

TEKNOMAN SLADE, who, together with a special task force called the SPACE KNIGHTS, must rescue his family from the clutches of DARKON -- the ruthless VENOMOID WARLORD determined to conquer the Earth. Brainwashed and mutated into evil, mindless Tekno-beings by Darkon, Slade's family members are both the enemy he must confront and the loved ones he must save.

Darkon, together with his lieutenant, GUNNAR, controls an army of gigantic, biomech SPIDERCRABS. As Darkon's forces are decimating the military forces on Earth, they are also seeding the entire planet with alien spore plants. These plants will eventually become TEKNOPODS, which will turn the entire population of Earth into inhuman mutants loyal to Darkon. Not even the most skilled, courageous warrior stands a chance against Darkon and his hoards of Venomoid monsters.

THE SPACE KNIGHTS

Space Knights
The Space Knights are a special task force of Earth's most courageous defenders led by COMMANDER JAMISON. They include RINGO RICHARDS, pilot of the Space Knights ship "Blue Earth;" STAR SUMMERS, the "Blue Earth's" navigator; MAGGIE MATHESON, the Space Knight science officer and computer wizard; TINA CORMAN, communications officer; and MAC MACKELROY, the chief engineer and bio-mechanic.

Through the use of his mysterious emerald Tekno-crystal, Slade is empowered with the characteristic super-human strength, impenetrable armor and quantum energy weapons of a Teknoman. Unlike other Tekno-beings, Slade uses his powers to fight Darkon, rather than encourage his evil reign of terror. However, if Slade is in his Teknoman state for more than 30 minutes at a time, he will turn into a mutant, lose his humanity, and become Darkon's slave forever.

After losing a fight with Gunnar, Slade falls to Earth and is discovered by Ringo and Star, who take him back to the medical lab at the Command Center. Slade has no recollection of how he got to the Space-Ring, only that he suddenly saw the Spidercrabs attacking it, and somehow knew he had to defend it. Understandably, the Space Knights are frustrated by Slade's amnesia. Especially wary is Ringo, who is suspicious of Slade's origins and motives.

SLADE'S STORY

Slade's real name is NESS CARTER. He and his family -- his father, his sister SHARA, his younger brother, twin brother, older brother and his older brother's fiancee -- were among the crew of the deep-space research vessel "The Argos." During the mission, they encountered a strange, alien craft near the moon Io. When they boarded the seemingly lifeless vessel to investigate, they were attacked by monstrous alien life-forms -- Teknopods -- which swallowed them whole, then began to transform them into Tekno-beings. Slade's father sacrificed his own life to free Slade just before his son's transformation was complete, shoving Slade into an escape capsule and sending it rocketing toward Earth.

Slade doesn't remember how long he was in the capsule. He regained consciousness somewhere near the Space-Ring, where he saw Darkon's alien Spidercrabs begin their attack and somehow knew that he must intervene. Slade and the Space Knights will eventually discover that the seeds which Darkon has planted throughout the Earth will develop into Teknopods, which, if not destroyed, will turn the entire population of Earth into Tekno-beings -- slaves of the Venomoids.

Now Slade faces the awesome challenge of stopping the formidable Darkon while trying to rescue his family and transform them from Tekno-beings to human beings.

SLADE AND THE SPACE KNIGHTS

The Space Knights, and everyone else on Earth, are intrigued by Slade's mystical power to transform into his Teknoman persona. Unfortunately, they will find that some people, such as the Earth's opportunistic, power-hungry GENERAL GALT, would rather use that power to further their own ambitions rather than to defend the planet.

Many obstacles must be overcome by Slade and the Space Knights, and they know that defeating Darkon will not be an easy task. With each challenge he faces, Slade learns that he cannot fight Darkon alone. He comes to depend on and admire the Space Knights, and the bond becomes mutual. Together, they become a true team -- and fight what is indeed a tougher battle than they could have ever imagined.

Character Descriptions: The Good Guys

TEKNOMAN SLADE

Slade
The troubled young hero who is on a quest to save the Earth from the evil clutches of the Venomoid Warlord Darkon, who has captured his family and mutated them into his own evil slaves. As a Teknoman, he possesses super-human strength, impenetrable armor, and quantum energy weapons. His friendship with the Space Knights is slow in coming, but eventually they develop a relationship based on true understanding, mutual respect, and unwavering loyalty.

THE SPACE KNIGHTS

Earth's most courageous defenders, the Space Knights are a special trouble-shooting task force of superbly trained professionals, determined to preserve humanity at all costs. They join forces with Slade to defend the Earth against the alien invaders.

COMMANDER JAMISON

Jamison
Leader of the Space Knights, Commander Jamison is an ex-military officer and expert tactician who cares deeply about the safety of his fellow man. Though sometimes at odds with the leaders of Earth's military forces, especially General Galt, Jamison willingly utilizes his expertise to direct the Space Knights against the alien invaders.

RINGO RICHARDS

Ringo
The brilliant, though occasionally rash pilot of the Space Knights' space-going vessel the "BLUE EARTH." Initially, Ringo doesn't trust Slade at all, but during the continuing saga the two men develop a deep friendship.

STAR SUMMERS

Star Summers
As the navigator of the "Blue Earth," Star is smart and sensitive to the feelings of others -- especially Slade, with whom she develops a friendship, and later a more serious involvement.

TINA CORMAN

The youngest of our heroes, Tina is the communications officer for the Space Knight Command Center. She and Slade share a brother-sister relationship; she reminds him of his beloved sister Shara.

MAGGIE MATHESON

Maggie
A brilliant science officer and computer wizard, Maggie is a true professional with the heart of an incurable romantic.

MAC MACKELROY

Mac (his real name is Mackelroy, but don't ever call him that if you want to stay healthy) is the chief engineer and mechanical expert who can build just about anything. His robust sense of humor adds levity to the grave mission he and his fellow Space Knights have undertaken.

MILES O'ROURKE

As the leader of a select squad of commandos, Miles is a seasoned veteran with an important message: "War isn't about numbers, it's about people. Never forget that."

SHARA CARTER

Slade's beloved sister who, like Slade, has the ability to transform into a Tekno-being to fight the evil Venomoids.

PEGAS, The Teknobot

Teknobot
Designed by Maggie and built by Mac after Slade's Tekno-crystal is shattered. When Slade enters the Teknobot's interlock chamber, the power of the remaining pieces of the crystal are amplified, enabling Slade to transform into Teknoman. Pegas (short for "Pegasus") also serves as a rocket-sled transport which Slade rides into battle, and due to his Robotic Artificial Intelligence (R.A.I.) he can function independently as an extremely powerful fighting machine. As the series progresses, Pegas gradually develops language skills and human-like characteristics (he even learns to sing Irish ballads!), ultimately becoming a true friend to Slade and the Space Knights, as well as offering a uniquely robotic (and humorous) perspective on the human condition.

Character Descriptions: The Bad Guys

Once Slade's twin brother Cain, now transformed into his greatest enemy, Saber is a slave of Darkon whose powers are equal to those of Slade.

GENERAL GALT

Galt
A high-ranking military leader whose opportunistic nature threatens the Space Knights and the Earth when he tries to control Slade's powers to achieve his own ambitions.
