Iria is assistant bounty hunter to her older brother Gren. They get a job investigating what happened to the starship Karma. When they arrive they discover the Zeiram [one of those unkillable creatures that are used to scare kids with, except that this time it is real] is aboard. Among other things, Gren is killed in an attempt to destroy Zeiram by blowing up the Karma. Later, Iria meets some unusual allies [a couple of kids named Komimasa and Kei] and continues to battle Zeiram on the resort planet of Tawajan and her home of Myce.

Zeiram has many weapons at its disposal, including the ability to clone "things". One in particular would seem to be her older brother Gren. Is Gren still alive?

IRIA contains all the needed elements of a good science fiction story, especially if you happen to be a fan of the Alien series. The universe that the series takes place in is very complete with a high amount of detail which is not always seen in scifi series or movies of any type.

There is at least one live action movie featuring Iria and Zeiram, or Zeram, as it was translated in the live action movie. By and large, the video I saw was not terrible. It featured Iria and Bob. Apparently, Zeiram is on its way to Earth and Iria is bound and determined to bag it. A couple of unlucky Earthmen get involved with Iria's bounty hunting, by mistake. This particular video can be rented at your better video rental stores under the title Zeram.
