This is a sequel to Mermaid Forest.

Yuta and Mana, the two immortal young people, continue their travels into forever. However, for right now, Yuta takes a job as a workman and Mana takes a job as kitchen help someplace in rural Japan.

Near by there is a house where a young boy and his mother live. The boy's name is Misato. Strange stories emerge about a terrible accident that occurred some time back concerning Misato's mother.

Apparently, she was in a major accident and was burned very badly. She, however, recovered in a very short time and does not have any visible scars from the accident.

Obviously, this story attracts the attention of Yuta and Mana, as it sounds as if someone else has taken mermaid flesh and has also become immortal.

However, things are not quite normal in Misato's home. It soon does become clear that Misato's mother has been given mermaid's flesh, apparently by Misato himself.

Evil comes in all shapes and sizes, and in this case, it is a small boy who has been around for 800 years and has perfected a number of talents to relieve the boredom of forever.

Mermaid's Scar is a fair sequel to Mermaid Forest with reasonable animation and story. It is not available in a subtitled edition through normal channels, however.
